Maurits Dolmans

Maurits Dolmans is an international lawyer, a partner in Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.  His practice focuses on international competition law, especially as relates to sustainability, innovation, and digital technology. Practicing in London and Brussels, Maurits joined Cleary Gottlieb in 1985 and became a partner in 1994. He was educated at Leiden University, the Netherlands, and Columbia University School of Law, New York. He is a member of the Bars of Rotterdam and New York, and registered for practice as a foreign lawyer in Brussels and the Law Society of England and Wales. He has appeared in proceedings before the European Commission and the EU courts, national courts and national competition authorities, and ICC and NAI arbitrations.

He has advised on, and been involved in, a number of matters related to sustainability and competition law and innovation, has lectured and authored a range of articles and book chapters on sustainable competition policy, as well as law and policy in information technology, the internet, and media.  He has presented as a subject matter expert to the OECD, the European Commission, regulators in other jurisdictions, and conferences on Sustainability and Competition. He also advises on other sustainability initiatives, including the EU Green Deal and innovation.
